HAGIA ALIMA SAGITO SAEED – NORTHERN REGIONAL CHAIR

Hajia is the CEO of Savannah Integrated Rural Development Aid (SIRDA) and the regional chairperson for Northern Region. She holds MSc in Managing Rural Development, University of London.

Mrs. Hajia Alima Sagito-Saeed has over ten years of community development experience in both direct implementation and managerial positions in different development oriented organizations. As a result for rural development, she formed SIRDA with the mission of To contribute to improve the socio-economic standards of the people of Northern Ghana through community development efforts which includes animating, mobilizing, training and building the capacities of poor and deprived communities to have access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation services, HIV/AIDs and health promotion, food security, human security and rights, gender promotion, nutrition information, market information linkages and social enterprise development modules”.

She has achieved so much to the extent that she facilitated over 400 communities have access to water and sanitation facilities and services. Facilitated the construction of about 10 milling and fortification centers for child nutrition improvement, have 40 registered women cooperative societies developed into Village Savings and Loan Associations working with own income of about GHS300,000.00. She worked with over 25 organized youth groups to promote peace and economic opportunities instead of engaging in violent acts.

Because of her passion for collaboration, her hard work has earned her policy making positions (Board of Directors) in national networks organization like West Africa Network for Peace Building, (WANEP, Ghana), Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health, Northern Ghana Network for Development and Agricultural Advisory Services Network, Ghana.

Since she took over as the regional Chairperson for the Northern region in August 2014, Hajia Alima working with her regional executive members has brought life and activities focus into the coalition to the extent that members are proud to belong to the coalition. They have revised and reviewed their data base to update members information, produced a signboard for the coalition as part of the visibility agenda. She has been consistent in the organization of quarterly general meetings and executive meetings as well. The executives also improve on its communication with members through updating of emails of members, establishing whatsApp platform for both executives and general members including SMS.

Again, the GCNH in the Northern region and its members activities are known by the relevant stakeholders including the NR RCC, the GHS regional officers, the MMDAs where members work and other development partners in the region. The regional executives have continued to provide capacity to members to strengthen their organizations to source for funds to run programmes and pay their dues. The coalition is now attractive to the point that since 2014, we have recorded an average of 3 organizations joining the coalition

Her vision is to lead GCNH branch with active and committed member organizations respected and by all stakeholders in the health and related sectors as a reliable and trustful advocates and the voice for the marginalized in Northern region

VICTOR NTUMI -VOLTA REGIONAL CHAIR

Mr Victor Atta Ntumi is currently the Executive Director of Afrinet Ghana, a Non governmental Organisation who is into national advocacy organization mobilizing communities for health and development. He holds a Diploma in Community Development/ Counselling from the University of Ghana, Legon. He also holds General Certificate of Education Advance Level.

Mr Ntumi has 15 years in CSO Management and Development Work and have Excellence track record and a clear logical mind with practical approach in problem solving. He also has a wide experience and extensive background and strong technical skills as well as excellent inter personal skills.

Victor is a member of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM), GAC Governing Board Member, Board Member of the Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health, Volta Regional Chairman of Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health, member of the Stop TB Partnership, Ghana, member of Coalition of NGOs in Malaria, Board member of the E.P. Church Development and Relief Agency (EPDRA), Chairman of the Civil Society Forum (USAID/UNAIDS) and Vice Chairman of AFRICASO.

SAMUEL BOATENG ARTHUR – GREATER ACCRA REGIONAL CHAIR

He is currently the Executive Director of Clikgold Association, a national advocacy organization mobilizing communities for health and development. He holds a B.A. (Hons) degree in Philosophy and Religions from the University of Ghana, Legon. He also holds a Certificate in Social Mobilization for Health and Development from the College of Health Sciences, School of Public Health, University of Ghana.

In addition to that he has undertaken extensive studies in Local governance initiatives and programmes, Community-Driven Development, Citizens Strengthening and Capacity Building programmes organized by the World Bank Institute at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He has over 15 years’ experience in Behavior Change Communication and Management working in deprived urban slums and rural communities. He is also the lead consultant who has been instrumental in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Clikgold’s community development programs.

He is an adept facilitator who participated in UNDP’s Advanced Leadership Development Program for Leaders in Ghana between 2003 and 2005. He is also a trained UNICEF VIPP facilitator (Visualization in Participatory Programs facilitator) .He is an excellent communicator and media advocate and has participated in major media forums and discussions on radio, TV and local community encounters in Ghana and currently the country CSOs CCM Watchdog for the Global Fund in Ghana.

CHRISTOPHER DAPAAH – ASANTE REGIONAL CHAIR

Christopher Dapaah is a well organised and highly motivated person with proven leadership skills and eager to make career in Management. He gets on well with others in the society, relishes a challenge, an amiable person and have the determination to continually improve upon successes. He is Reliable and has the willingness to work hard to accomplish tasks on schedule and with efficient communicative and interpersonal skills and work with less supervision.

Christopher Dapaah worked as a volunteer and full time in civil society environment over 10 years and had post graduate professional experience. As a social worker and Consultant with keen interest in governance issues, Christopher has had engagements with a variety of institutional systems including governance institutions such as government sector ministries, local government authorities, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and other civil society organisations (CSOs) and development partners, among others.

In a number of these engagements, Christopher technically supported, designed, coached and/or provided backstopping for the planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes at the community, district and national levels involving both state and non-state sector organisations in Ghana. These programmes were implemented as part of an integrated development agenda to among other things, promote participation, improve on decision-making, the livelihood of communities, and strengthen community-based and other private sector organisations and the overall performance of relevant public sector agencies.

Christopher Dapaah has had meaningful engagements with sector Ministries, over local government authorities (District Assemblies) and other organizations as Mid Ghana coordinator for LOGNET, Coalition of NGOs in Health, as lead facilitator and advocate on Health policy issues as well as on Alliance for Reproductive Health Rights, with GTZ (now GIZ) – Ghana

A consultant for BUSAC private sector Associations as accredited service provider and Due diligence specialist, and leading sensitization of community members on sustaining leadership and facilitating traits to ensure self sufficiency. Worked with Ghana Trade and livelihoods coalition on livelihoods policy issues, working on Ghana School Feeding Programme Governance structures at community and Assembly levels in Brong Ahafo and Ashanti Regions on Good governance, Local Governance Social accountability and transparency interventions. Currently Leading CDD/I am aware social Accountability project in Brong ahafo and Ashanti Regions to date.

As Civil Society activist, Christopher advocates on Education, Health, Gender and Agricultural policies as well as, in the Local Governance and decentralization issues with international exposure through comparative studies/visits. In these capacities, Christopher worked with the GTZ-LGPRSP team to formulate, design, implement, monitor and evaluate appropriate interventions to build local organizational capacity.

He has facilitated PWDs in All inclusive governance intervention in Sunyani West- Odumase, and Akaste in Volta Regions. At the international level, Christopher advocate and facilitates on Social Protection policy issues and as President of central and west Africa Region.

DAPHNE LARIBA NABILA – GCNH LEGAL ADVISOR

Daphne Lariba Nabila obtained her Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) Degree from the University of Ghana Legon, and her Master’s Degree (LL.M.) in Law from the Harvard Law School. She is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana, having obtained a Certificate to Practice Law from the Ghana School of Law.

She is also the Executive Director of Legal Resources Centre (LRC), a human rights and development NGO based in Ghana. She leads the team to accomplish its Strategic Plan; she works to strengthen the two (2) programmes (Human Rights Cities Programme and the Research, Advocacy, Advisory Services Programme). Her research interests are in the intersection of human rights, policy, development issues and legal pluralism.
